Stud Mounts are named to describe the 'stud' end or ends typically found on these mounts but are not the only type of attachment end  available.  Stud mounts com in various sizes and shapes.  They are best used in compression although some find their way into limited shear loaded applications.  Stud mounts should never be used in tension and they are not a fail-safe design.
